What Is A Solution-Focused Approach?

A solution-focused therapist directs your attention towards solutions to problems, focuses on the present and the future, encourages and supports you in setting goals, and guides you in creating the steps you need to take to reach satisfying results. How the problem ends will be a lot more interesting than how it began.

Two basic principles are:
1. If something doesn't work, do something else.
2. If something works, do more of it.

This may sound simple and obvious, but how many people keep doing the same thing over and over again with the same disappointing or discouraging results?

As a solution-focused therapist, I will work together with you to identify and focus on the strengths you already have and put them to work to reach your goal.

Because you will work towards specific and realistic goals, you will notice change following the first session.

WORKING TOWARDS CHANGE

Each individual has the potential to change by creating new possibilities. Some of that potential is waiting in each of us to be discovered, explored, and put to use. By expanding your choices, coaching will help you tap into undiscovered resources and give you the tools you need to work towards your chosen goal.

Steps for change:

Choose a specific and realistic goal
This step is crucial for reaching a satisfying result

Make an action plan
This will be a personal step-by-step plan, one which expands your possibilities and choices and creates strategies to achieve your goal.

Stay on track
This is check-up time. Even the best plan needs evaluating from time to time.

Congratulate yourself
Take time to enjoy what you have accomplished before setting your next goal.

What About Hypnosis?

In addition to therapy, hypnosis is an amazingly effective technique in changing patterns and habits. By concentrating and focusing attention, hypnosis will be helpful in discovering unexplored resources, holding onto them, and using them as further motivation. Hypnosis is successfully used for issues such as stress reduction, depression, weight control, pain management, and smoking cessation. Neither strange nor mysterious, the phenomenon of hypnosis simply does help in increasing awareness of possibilities for change.

From Thought To Action
Been thinking lately about:

Quitting smoking?
Losing weight?
Resolving trauma?
A career change?
What to do after retirement?
A less stressful way of living?
Improving your relationship?
Being free from addictions?
Changing a habit?
How great it would feel to wake up excited about the day to come?
Improving your parenting skills?
Making today better than yesterday?

Thinking about change is an important first step.....but action is the step that will allow you to reach your goal.
